Image-Guided SRT vs. SRT

GentleCure utilizes Image-Guided SRT in treating non-melanoma (basal and squamous cell) skin cancers. You may have also heard about SRT, which doesn’t use ultrasound imaging like Image-Guided SRT does.

Image-Guided SRT is preferred over SRT because:

  • Image-Guided SRT provides improved targeting of cancer cells and treatment planning, resulting in better accuracy and less damage to healthy surrounding tissue.
  • Image Guided SRT provides visual confirmation that the tumor is responding to the treatment.
  • Image Guided SRT facilitates adaptive radiotherapy, which means the use of imaging to monitor your skin cancer during treatment and adjust the radiation plan as needed to precisely target the tumor while protecting healthy skin.

There are several types of radiation treatment available to treat non-melanoma skin cancers. How does GentleCure/Image-Guided SRT differ from them?

An analysis of studies comparing Imaged-Guided SRT to SRT, showed Image-Guided SRT delivered statistically superior cure rates statistically superior cure rates across basal cell, squamous cell, and squamous cell in situ skin cancers compared with traditional, non-image-guided radiotherapies.
